Mountain side - Carved vase

This vase started from a 5kg lump of clay. Instead of using the clay to build the vase from the bottom to the top, I carved and hatched away at the block of clay. The process took several hours of careful hollowing. I then proceeded to apply texture to the vase. It is a statement pieces and also something I loved making so much. The physical nature of the work was incredibly satisfying. 

The vase is around 12cm in width (this is not a uniform shape) and 16cm in height. 

All my pieces are handmade by me in my Berlin studio. They feature glazes I made and formulated.
